“A traditional 17th-century whitewashed limestone building turned into a serene boutique stay. Suites (the largest sleeping five) are decorated in soft hues while there's a spa, three restaurants, and a gorgeous pool. Set moments from a beautiful white sand beach, this is an idyllic Puglia hideaway. ”

Hotel Review

If you're looking for a slice of unbridled luxury in the heart of Puglia's Salento region, then Baglioni's brand new Masseria Muzza is the one to book. This historic building dates back to the 17th century and is everything you'd expect from a masseria in this region: square architecture, bright white walls and lots of little terraces and other nooks and crannies. However inside everything is very much 21st century, in a pared-back, ethereal, minimalist style. The rooms and suites have been decorated in very muted, neutral hues yet they feel totally luxurious and indulgent — the focus of all the rooms is a huge daybed, perfect for idling away the days if it's too hot outside or the weather is inclement. Some also come with furnished private patios and the family suites are perfect for groups of four. One of the property's other boasts is its amazing Baglioni spa; as well as the full range of treatments you'd expect (all using Baglioni products of course) you'll find an indoor pool, sauna and steam room. But outside the pool is even better! It's a vast turquoise expanse overlooking a distant lagoon, surrounded by plenty of loungers with some even submerged in the water. Once you've ensconced yourself here you'll find it very hard to leave...but if you can drag yourself away the Masseria Muzza is excellently located for exploring both Puglia's beaches and inland towns and villages. Food-wise you are spoilt for choice. There are three separate restaurants, all serving traditional Salento cuisine, but each in a unique way. Head to Le Site for gourmet dining, Mirto Restaurant for breakfast and light lunches, and La Limonaia for local dishes. Baglioni Masseria Muzza is still a work in progress (it's only been open since May 2022), but watch this space as Baglioni work their magic and give their competitors a real run for their money! We'd advise getting in early before too many people hear about it!
