It's lovely to see a new hotel complex that respects the landscape it is set in; Bassa Maina is constructed in the architectural style traditional in this part of southern Greece, and benefits from all the airiness and beauty that comes with the use of local building techniques. Exquisitely located, with unobstructed views of the coastline, the private villas and suites have all the modern amenities groups, families or couples will need, plus some added luxury touches. A favourite has to be the hidden terrace den in the Terra Suite, a private bolt-hole where you can lounge with a perfect sea view. Couples will want to choose a suite with a private hot tub to make the most of the balmy evenings outside. With a beautiful layout and high-quality finish, it's easy to see how Basssa Maina won all of its four stars.
