Perched on a hill above the idyllic village of Liebenstein stands the Bayerwaldhof, dripping in classically Bavarian understated luxury. The Bayerwaldhof redefines the meaning of relaxation: with warm and welcoming interiors, marked by wooden beams and furnished in a rustic, homespun charm, it is a place of tranquil ambience. The en-suite rooms themselves have Alpine interiors, as cosy as a chalet, and all come with wifi, a TV, safe, minibar, sitting area and hairdryer. Relaxing isn't hard when you're standing in the spa, over 10,000 square meters of sauna, 4 pools, a gym and a whole host of different beauty treatments. If you fancy a swim, you are spoiled for choice: there is a heated outdoor pool, an indoor pool, whirlpool and a healing liquid pool, after which you could try your hand (and/or feet) at yoga, with one of the on-site personal trainers. The owner of the hotel was a renowned equestrian and has a stable of over 20 horses that is open to guests, pending request, but children can ride for free. There are 2 restaurants, one of which, Leo's, serves a la carte menus of simple, decent cuisine, while the former deals with fine dining. Both of which use only locally-sourced, organic produce. Whether you're trying to escape the manic lights and sounds of the city, or whether you're looking for places to hike, this is the perfect hotel for you.
