Hotel Review

An exquisite resort on a 250 acre site, modelled on an ancient Apulian village. Rooms, alleyways, the clock tower and the piazzas are all fashioned from white rock which shines in the sun. There are four pools, olive groves, tennis courts and private beach clubs to choose from. The restaurants are headed by Michelin-starred Domingo Schingaro, who is an advocate of 'zero-miles' food, meaning most of the dishes are sourced from the locality. The spa is enormous and toga-clad staff conduct the traditional treatments. The rooms are enormous and decadent; the suites even more so with private gardens and plunge pools. Mediterranean luxury at its best.

Borgo Egnazia is not quite one of the seven wonders of the world, but it's close to it in resort terms.
