Hotel Review
This is a useful middle-of-road B&B/Hotel (46 rooms) to know about in Edinburgh. It is not in the swanky part of town, but it is very handy for Haymarket Station (mainline) and you can in fact walk to Lothian Road or the West End of Prince’s Street in minutes. It has slightly crazy ‘eclectic’ decor – think swirls, leather, tweed, crystal, antlers - which is not entirely easy on the eye, but it has a certain sort of unique charm. Enjoy lolling on one of the over-sized sofas in the warm and spacious sitting room with a glass or two from the honesty bar. The bedrooms are perfectly adequate – comfy beds, nice enough sheets, good lighting, small but modern bathrooms, tea, coffee, telly, free WiFi and iPod dock. The key selling point for Brooks is that it is really not expensive - especially as a hearty breakfast is included. It is quite busy with a fairly young clientele and plenty of smiley staff. You can also arrange dinner in your room.
