Its 127 rooms have shed their location-inappropriate Asian accents and now look as though they belong in the Caribbean, thanks to acres of highly polished teak and bright prints in magenta or turquoise reminiscent of the sort of corals that inspired the most vibrant of Matisse’s cut outs. The areas around the pool have been decked and furnished with handsome new loungers and shaded “egg” chairs. A waterfall now feeds the swimming pool.
