“Once the home of a wealthy Baron, this C18th townhouse has been beautifully restored to exhibit the original period decor. High ceilings, glistening chandeliers and ornate fire places. Breakfast is served in a light airy room with views to the quiet street below. Comfortable, spacious bedrooms.”

Hotel Review

The unassuming exterior of this 18th-century townhouse on a quiet Ghent street, hides a truly impressive period interior. Just south of Central Ghent but well-connected for both the railway station and motorway. The rooms, each named after a local feature, are decorated in keeping with the building’s history, but with clean, modern bathrooms. There is a beautifully restored breakfast room, part buffet, part table service and a small gravelled courtyard behind the hotel has been turned into a lovely quiet suntrap. The former wine cellar has a sauna and a small gym for guests’ use. Owner-Manager Martin and his staff are happy to offer thoughtful and interesting recommendations, making it easy to seek out hidden treasures and true Ghent delicacies, beyond chocolate and beer. No lift; breakfast is included in the room price.
