“With top-notch service, a sleek infinity pool gazing out over palm-fringed beaches, the Indian Ocean’s largest wine cellar and a unique floating restaurant, this sophisticated Leading Hotels of the World member is as regal as its name suggests.”

Hotel review

Tucked away in 150 acres of lush and jungle-d land where endemic Mauritius Fody make their cocoon-like nests, Constance Prince Maurice is perfect for travellers seeking a stylish hideaway on the magical, uncluttered northeast coast of Mauritius.

89 spacious suites and villas (some with direct beach access) have thatched roofs, varnished parquet floors, solid wooden furnishings and deep tubs for soaking. Villas on stilts also have decked balconies overlooking a mangrove-studded lagoon, whilst the butler-serviced Princely Villa has its own heated pool.

Fringed by the tranquil turquoise waters of a coral-studded lagoon and surrounded by toddler-friendly talc-soft beaches there’s plenty to keep kids occupied here, whilst the heated adults-only pool, a dedicated gin bar and a candlelit spa, ensure that couples and solo travellers are also amply catered for.

The resort also has three gourmet restaurants, including dazzlingly romantic floating venue Le Barachois, which is reached via a rickety jetty leading far out into the mangroves.

Constance Prince Maurice

This spacious yet intimate six-star hideaway on a leafy, east-coast peninsula is named after Prince Maurice Van Nassau, pioneer of the spice trade in the Indian Ocean. The rich, warm character of regional flavours and spices permeates the hotel's cool, colonial architecture, and its fusion cuisine.
