Set in the Argentine countryside, just outside of the village of San Antonio de Areco, this estancia comprises a beautifully appointed colonial mansion, acres of land and stables. Steeped in the gaucho tradition, this region is rich in culture, and the hosts at this hotel give guests the opportunity to have an authentic experience of the mythical Argentine pampa. The heritage property has been beautifully restored and boasts many original features, from shuttered windows to wooden floors and exposed beams; antique furniture and local textiles complete the authentic colonial-era feel to the hotel. There is the option for connecting rooms for families and pets are welcome here, too. Outside there is a charming swimming pool which the kids will love. There is no shortage of activities either; horseback riding has a special place in the local culture and the hosts will be happy to give you a taste with a ride tailored to your experience level. Bikes are available free if you want to explore the landscape on a cycling trip, or you can participate in a number of rural activities from cattle driving to milking. A unique escape to the country.
