Hotel Review
The oldest hotel on Lake Bled is certainly grand and has fabulous views over the water. Guests can swim in the lake from the hotel’s private beach or take a dip in the indoor thermal pool fed by the town’s thermal springs and from which the water is drained and replaced every night. The restaurant and wellness centre are both of a high standard but lack the polish of a top five star in central Europe. Bedrooms overlooking the lake have wooden shutters on the windows and stone balustraded terraces which make up for the old fashioned rather soul-less decoration of their interiors. The tea rooms overlooking the lake are a wonderful place to sit in the afternoon and enjoy experiencing a slower pace of life. Perfect for a relaxing trip to a beautiful location, this charming hotel would not suit travellers in search of modern designs and gizmos.
