Hotel Review
The food and the service are what stand out at this sassy restaurant-with-rooms, a small country hotel that underwent a complete transformation under its new owner, Wildsmith Hotels - The Rybeck and Forest Side. With Lancashire born, Oli Martin in the kitchen, the restaurant, set in the Great Hall serves inspired, memorable dishes. Order the Tasting menu with accompanying wines - surprise follows surprise and all of them good ones. The three AA rosettes are well deserved and if a fourth could be awarded, it would certainly have it. Comfy bedrooms are a mixture of traditional and modern but all with good bathrooms and plenty of hot water.
