“A 14 story monolith rearing up out of downtown Omaha, this bastion of Nebraska Art Deco offers the ultimate in luxurious living, sleeping, dining and drinking. Interiors are sophisticated in sleek black & white with metal and wood accents. The soaring Encore Lounge serves cocktails and wines.”

Hotel review

This fine hotel was erected in 1930 by prominent local architect Joseph G. McArthur who was responsible for many of historic downtown Nebraska’s Art Deco buildings. Originally an office building, the ‘Redick Tower’ was attentively renovated in 2010 by new owners, recreating it as Omaha’s swankiest hotel. A clarity of mind permeated the design process, resulting in sophisticated monochrome interiors in all the public and private spaces of the hotel. Bedrooms in a palette of white, black and grey feature pillow-topped mattresses, Belgian wallpaper and Italian tile. Dark hardwood floors are softened up by luxurious white rugs, and there are 37-inch flat screen plasma televisions for guests’ enjoyment. Even seasoned travellers can expect to be wowed by the impressive Encore lounge with its lavish ottoman and sofa seating in white and black leather, a modern bar serving hand-made exotic cocktails as well as a wide selection of wines and beers, and glitzy chandeliers suspended high above. The Heritage Food and Wine restaurant offers up hearty classics with exquisite presentation along the lines of Ribeye Steaks, Grilled Trout and Butternut Squash Ravioli. Within walking distance of the hotel, guests can sample Omaha's art scene with the Orpheum Theatre just a moment's walk away and the Joslyn Art Museum, with works by El Greco, Degas, Monet and Renoir to name a few, only a few minutes further. Omaha's Old Market shopping and entertainment district is just a 7 minute walk from the hotel. Guests can also take a walk along the famous Missouri in the Heartland of America Park.
