Hotel Review
The perfect location for history buffs, La Farm Hotel is only a few blocks away from the sprawling palace and gardens of the Royal Site of San Ildefonso, considered to be the Spanish equivalent of Versailles.
La Farm opens like a library. The reception is like a reading room, with coffee tables stacked with books and international newspapers. And there is the hotel's moniker, printed on the wall over the open pages of Dickens, Proust, and Austen.
It's a romantic notion, but La Farm is what co-founder Francesca Garrigues calls a love story that couldn't happen anywhere else. Indeed, La Farm is many things, but the driving force is as part of the "La Farm ecosystem", an eco-concious community concept that includes ventures in real estate, outdoor, and wellness, and an art studio inside a 19th Century church. All of these aspects are available in the La Granja area, and bookable experiences at the hotel include spa sessions, physiotherapy, fitness workshops, and walks along the nearby Valsaín river.
Rooms are airy and light, and the small terrace serves a simple yet charming breakfast. Staff are always ready with advice or a story about the town. More than anything, La Farm is about the positive impact it can have on their guests, which includes the option to have fresh flowers delivered to the room every morning.
