This beautiful, country-style hotel in the South of Iceland is the perfect place for a romantic break. It lies about 95 km, or an hours drive, away from Reykjavik near Hella. Two volcanos, Hekla and Katla, act as the hotel's backdrop. Mornings start with an excellent breakfast overlooking the Ranga River with the menu based around locally sourced produce. However, there is the option of an aurora wake-up call, so if your lucks in you'll get to see the spectacular northern lights across the surrounding landscape. At the other end of the day, star-gazing from one of the three outdoor hot tubs is an amazing experience. If the weather's too cold for an outdoor hot tub, many of the 51 rooms the Ranga has to offer are equipped with hot tub bathtubs. Additionally, the hotel also offers 7 uniquely themed suites, each one inspired by one of the continents. The hotel's restaurant is a superb gourmet experience and is a great place to unwind after a day's exploring.
