Incredible views from a unique mountain retreat run by Berbers and reached by donkey. Situated at the foot of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, Kasbah Toubkal has won a Green Globe for sustainable tourism and is a mecca for trekkers who can enjoy numerous accompanied hikes. Don't expect phones or TVs: we're talking back-to-nature wow factor and mint tea on the roof terrace.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? For the location and relaxing Berber hospitality.
What is there to do in the area or on site? Spectacular day walks in the surrounding area, overnight treks to our Trekking Lodge in the Azzaden Valley and more adventurous treks up Mount Toubkal (4.165m), the highest mountain in North Africa. Relaxing on the roof terrace of the Kasbah with its magnificent views and taking a hammam (steam bath).
What kind of breakfast do you offer? Buffet breakfast includes fresh orange juice, fresh bread, eggs, yoghurts, coffee, tea etc
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Both lunch and 3 course evening meal are available at the Kasbah. There is little choice to eat out in the evenings in Imlil.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? Standard, superior and deluxe – they are all comfortable and have magnificent views.
What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? The Kasbah is a relaxing, welcoming environment for those who wish to stay in comfort in a spectacular setting which feels like a million miles away for the bustle of Marrakech.
“Dreams are only the plans of the reasonable,” reads the placard by the entrance to Kasbah du Toubkal, a dreamy alpine retreat in the High Atlas Mountains about an hour’s drive from Marrakech.
