The restaurant serves seasonal cuisine and the meat is brought in every day by the local butcher's son. No stranger to modern luxuries, the hotel has a hot tub in the garden and on request, they can book you a massage. The views from this far-flung mountain village are breathtaking: vast green meadows and sprawling vineyards carpet the valleys and dark forests loom in the backdrop. Down in the village, barely a 5 minute walk away, are plenty of shops, including a bakery, grocers and a number of restaurants, and there is a free-to-use tennis court. Being in Alsace, a region famous for its legions of wineries, this is an area ideal for hiking and biking, as it is rich in lushly-green landscapes, and is only 4 miles from the Alsace Wine Route. Bike-hire can be sorted out through the hotel itself. Perhaps take your bike along the Roman Road, or go all the way to Strasbourg Cathedral. This is a real hidden gem in the heart of Alsace.
