Jacques Bon bred bulls and horses on his Camargue farm, whilst his wife Lucille, an architect and interior designer, used her skill to convert their 18th-century stable with rustic panache into this exquisite hotel. Still run by the Bon family today, the place has lost none of its authentic charm with antiques filling the large beamed bedrooms, some with galleried bathrooms. There’s also a peaceful reading room and traditional kitchen-dinning room where guests dine and can watch the chef cook up a storm. A heavenly retreat.

A beautiful, unpretentious Provençal farmhouse and set in a timeless, Truffaut-esque country landscape in the Camargue. The one-time home of rancher Jacques Bon and his architect wife, Lucille, this family-run estate effortlessly straddles the line between a smart country hotel and a relaxed, unfussy retreat.
