Tucked into an inlet the hotel overlooks the frontage of the island’s capital Hamilton as well as the Dockyard that curls round in the distance from where the sun sets. It was formerly Shoreby House where Mark Twain, Charlie Chaplin and Woodrow Wilson once visited. Beyond the chic, light and airy glass lobby and scattered over the premises are the green, yellow and ochre waterfront residences. In order of ascending grandeur are the Deluxe Room, Studio Deluxe, One Bedroom and Two Bedroom Suites. The interiors of the rooms are extremely spacious with king-size beds and have a natural décor with beautiful rich wooden floors and furnishings. Double glass French doors open onto large verandas from which to sit or eat out. Aurora, the hotel’s restaurant is charmingly curvaceous and decorated in sky and water blues. Palm trees sustain its connection with nature. Amenities include an Asian-inspired spa, an infinity pool and tennis courses. There’s a 5-minute shuttle away to both the famous beaches and the 18-hole golf course as well as the hourly exclusive complimentary 5-minute water taxi to Hamilton. This hotel is a luxurious destination with an elegant setting.
