One Hundred Shoreditch is both the name and address of the hotel and is set on the area’s main street near the Bengali restaurants of Brick Lane and the hip cafés, clubs and galleries of Hoxton and Spitalfields. Within its cool, uncomplicated façade is an uber-cool foyer with wooden totem sculptures and cork wall-panelling. It has a co-working feel with a stylish coffee shop indoors.
The loft and studio rooms all have a neutral tone and either a Juliet balcony or oriel windows. They come with floor-to-ceiling tapestries, wool carpets, paper lights and jute rugs. The hotel has six restaurants and bars with different vibes: on the ground floor Goddard & Gibbs is the fair-priced, huge, airy all-day restaurant and is inspired by England’s fishing villages. The Seed Library is a snug basement bar while the rooftop with its One Hundred Room feels like a greenhouse with panoramic views over East London and the City. The stylish rooms exude a calmness and comfort that takes one successfully away from the frenzy of the outside world.
