Why do people love staying in your hotel? The unique feature our property is the homely atmosphere. We have more long stays than a lot of hotels in the same vicinity because of the facilities we provide such as a fully equipped kitchenette, spacious bathrooms, facilities for children upon request and our general layout just makes us suitable for long stays as well as short stays. We also have a very peaceful atmosphere in our public areas which makes Oriental Residence a peaceful abode in the heart of the city. You can step out and easily access downtown attractions but the moment you enter our property, you enter an oasis of tranquility. Another key factor is the service we offer. A definition of a luxury hotel is when you step into the hotel, you feel pampered. The warm customer service we provide is what makes our guests return. What is there to do in the area? There are many things to do in the area. Of course, the closest shopping mall is Central Embassy which is connected to the BTS Sky Train that can take you to many shopping and dining destinations. We are also very close to the Lumpini Park and our Concierge also has a running course map for guests who wish to jog. Our Concierge team is always more than happy to help you get to your desired attractions around Bangkok, both near the property and popular attractions that are located further away. What kind of breakfast do you offer? We have a buffet breakfast at Café Claire but don’t be confused by the small display. As Café Claire doesn’t have the space to accommodate a large buffet spread and we like to keep the hot dishes fresh and new for our guests, we have a menu of a la minute dishes you can order at no additional cost. These would usually be your hot dishes such as bacon and eggs which really taste best when they are prepared freshly for you and served on hot plates like we do at Café Claire. Our a la minute menu includes various types of eggs you could choose from and our most recent addition is the Eggs Florentine! Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We have an all-day dining menu with dishes prepared in a French-bistro style. We are also popular for our Afternoon Tea where you can enjoy desserts and patisserie items along with a selection of TWG teas or coffee/hot chocolate. Nearby fine dining Thai restaurants: Issaya Siamese Club, Eat me (at Silom), Osha. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Of course, the Grand Deluxe is our most basic room type with the lowest room rates so it is the most popular choice. The One Bedroom City View follows this for the same reason (as our One Bedroom Suite also has Park View and Corner versions). However, the aesthetics of the room type that really leaves an impression on guests when they see our pictures is the Two Bedroom Suite as it is the only room type that has a French bath tub in the bathroom. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Upon request, we can arrange; Baby cot, Baby bath tub, Bottle steriliser, Child bathrobes and slippers, Child menu, High chair, Doctor on call, Baby pool by the main swimming pool, Children DVDs for rental. And we can provide an extra bed in the rooms. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? If you’re looking for a peaceful and luxurious experience in the heart of Bangkok, then Oriental Residence Bangkok is a definite must-try. The vibe of our property is of elegance and tradition where we provide luxury that isn’t ostentatious. We also have a brand new Oriental Bar that offers a unique menu of signature cocktails inspired by the favourite cocktails of honoured ambassadors.
