This pretty Victorian inn, reached by driving one of Scotland’s most scenic routes, is a little out-of-the-way but well worth tackling the single track roads for. The setting is enchanting, overlooking the Kyles of Bute in the picturesque village of Tighnabruich. Of the eleven well-equipped rooms those with sea-views are definitely worth requesting; but the food is the hotel’s main attraction. A dedicated seafood menu teems with locally caught scallops, muscles and langoustine - served with crisp, fresh wines alongside sublime scenery. A malt whisky in the Shinty Bar makes a perfect end to a great day.
