Hotel review

One of very few home stay properties in Malta, Selmunett run by Roger Strickland and his wife Maria is an absolutely charming place to stay. It has a real 'home from home' feel and is situated on the edge of the beautiful village of Naxxar. There are only two light and airy en-suite rooms meaning the place will never be overcrowded. Roger is the perfect host due to many years in the hospitality business and his good-natured personality. He will prepare a stunning barbecued breakfast out on the terrace with the added extra of fresh produce from the garden. After breakfast you can take a dip at St Paul's Bay, only a 10-minute drive away, or borrow a set of clubs and play at Royal Malta Golf Club. Roger and Maria really do go the extra-mile, whether it's letting you speak to your relatives on Skype, picking you up from the airport, giving heartfelt recommendations or simply indulging you in decent conversation – you'll really make friends here.
