“Recently renovated, the Seven Hotel takes advantage of a superb positioning overlooking the sea. Contemporary and chic, the hotel offers spacious, comfortable rooms as well as an excellent restaurant.”

Hotel review

Southend on Sea has not been noted for offering up-market experiences over recent years, but this is changing and a stay at the Seven Hotel, opened in early 2018, gives a taste of the style enjoyed by high society who visited the town in the past. Situated in a wonderful position overlooking the Thames Estuary, the hotel is set in an elegant Clifton Terrace in Westcliff on Sea. However, you are only a few minutes away from the famous pier – well worth the walk or train trip to the end. The interior is modern and very smart, with the best rooms overlooking the sea – well worth asking for a room with a sea view. All rooms are well furnished and the beds so comfortable you might struggle to leave them. However, the Aurum Cocktail Bar and Restaurant will tempt you. The knowledgeable and helpful staff will make the experience most enjoyable. The restaurant offers a short but delicious menu using locally sourced fresh produce. Head Chef Simon Webb has worked previously at the 5 star Langham Hotel in London, and also for Roux private dining. On sunny days a relaxed informal meal on the outside terrace overlooking the sea is not to be missed. A premium quality experience in this corner of Essex.
