“This 4-storey hotel is notable for its use of concrete and silk. The effect is modern and airy. Rooms are capacious with all the desired mod cons. Found down a quiet alley behind the National Gallery, the verdant tropical garden and luxury pool to the rear are a treat. Laze in a cabana, or head out!”

Hotel Review

Phnom Penh, Cambodia's bustling capital, is increasingly becoming a stop-off for travellers to South-East Asia. Boasting a historic centre with ancient temples and quaint alleyways, in addition to a vibrant culinary scene and plenty of partying, there is something about this tropical big city that catches the attention of wanderers from afar. Set close to the main attractions but with an oasis-style atmosphere in its pool terrace garden, The Blue Lime Hotel is the perfect place to rest after local sightseeing.

Entering the lobby, exposed stone walls are set off with acquamarine hues, giving the sensation of being somewhere underwater. The clever use of lighting - with a lightbox which provides backlighting to the reception area and soft wall lights - makes this a warm space which invites you to relax as soon as you arrive. Guestrooms are airy and bright, featuring wooden four-poster beds hung with muslin drapes and splashes of lime green in the soft furnishings. Book a luxury suite for a private patio plunge pool, perfect for cooling off on hot days. If your budget doesn't stretch that far, don't worry - the hotel has a swimming pool for guests on the rear terrace, lined with cosy cabanas for romantic lounging. Poolside cocktails are, of course, a must.

Stepping out of the hotel you will be perfectly placed to see the sights of Phnom Penh, with tuk-tuks passing by regularly if you need local transport. Both the National Museum and the Royal Palace are within easy walking distance (tucked just behind the hotel) and the hotel can recommend traditional cooking classes, bike tours and live music and dance performances if you fancy a fuller itinerary. For a special sunset experience, cross over to the hotel's Floatation Lounge on a traditional rice boat for dinner and cocktails with a view.
