Hotel Review
Located in Bristol’s charming cobbled harbour quarter, within ambling distance of theatres, art galleries, waterfront restaurants and night life, this large contemporary hotel makes for a great central base. Guests get to use the NCP car park next door for free which is an added boon. The hotel is part of 8 “urban havens”, all different but privately owned by the Irish Doyle family and has in recent years undergone a £14 million refurbishment. The popular restaurant serves brasserie-style food overlooking the river in what can be described as a buzzy area. Neutral-coloured generously-proportioned rooms are spotlessly clean with large comfortable beds, sumptuous bed linen, jewel-coloured silk cushions and velvet throws. Details such as chocolates on the pillow add a personal touch. Staff are young and helpful and for a city hotel you are blissfully unaware of any traffic.
