“A landmark building in the lovely village of Llandeilo. Large rooms mix contemporary design with a traditional feel. High ceilings with criss-crossing wooden beams. The large bar sells regional drinks and the restaurant serves up wholesome Welsh food. An ideal base for exploring Wales.”

Hotel review

A hotel since Georgian times, the deep red painted Cawdor makes a really useful address in likeable Llandeilo, packed with specialist shops and standing on the River Towey. Now part of Morgans Hotels, each of its attractively refurbished bedrooms, contemporary with antique touches, are described on the hotel’s excellent website, with floor plans and a wide range of prices. Downstairs: an informal bar and lounge and a large restaurant set in the former Assembly Room, where politicians and notables once gathered. Good value.
