Hotel review

The hotel re-opened last year after major refurbishment. As a result, there are more suites than previously and the interior design is more contemporary, with a vast white Thassos marble lobby complete with bright red piano that looks out to sea. The Oberoi way is a winning one – the rooms are the last word in comfort, the food good and the service impeccable. If it’s a bit of a formula, it is certainly one that works. Excellent champagne Sunday brunch at Fenix on the ground floor, contemporary Indian cuisine at Ziya, and Italian at Vetro.
