The present owner, a descendent of the ruler of Chaumoo who built this Mughal palace in 1727, has gone to great lengths to refurbish this beautiful heritage building to it‘s original splendour. The 38 rooms and suites are lavishly furnished and decorated with original artefacts, and the bed-linen is the finest from Italy. The elegance of the gardens and verandahs are as important as the grand and airy interiors. The Swapna Mahal restaurant houses a unique collection of crockery and the largest chandelier in India, from Swarovski. Just as dazzling, the Maharajah’s Presidential Suite, on three floors with it’s own roof terrace, is sublime.
