The brainchild of celebrated Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragonés, Viceroy Los Cabos sets a new bar for luxury beach resorts in Central America. The distinct hotel buildings are connected via an elevated walkway, with endless azure pools surrounding them. Amenities are second-to-none, from the sleek, contemporary spa to a plethora of bars and gourmet restaurants. Bright and elegant guestrooms complete the experience. Originally opened as Mar Adentro, the newly renovated Viceroy Los Cabos welcomes guests with its trademark blend of Mexican design and modern luxury; an ornate, ironwork screen gives way to traditional, heavy wooden doors at the hotel entrance, flanked by native plants. Guestrooms are spread across the hotel site and can be reached via the hotel's walkways. The standard Viceroy King Room is chic and minimalist, allowing the sea to do the talking from beautiful, floor-to-ceiling windows. Larger suites boast self-catering kitchens, ample living space and a seafront terrace. Start the day with a home-style breakfast at Casero Restaurant, where you can book a private table for a group meal, then head to the hotel's private beach to unwind while the children are entertained in the Kid's Club. For active holidaymakers there are no shortage of packages available; the hotel beach is the starting point for a range of watersports, from diving to paddle-boarding and surfing.
