“A cracking country house B&B not far from Asti. Rooms with panoramic views boast elegant interiors filled with antiques and period features; the best come with a private balcony or terrace. Plus there's a large pool and early evening drinks service. A hidden gem in truffle and wine country.”

Hotel review

Villa Giara was created by Stephen Croncota, former Chief Marketing Officer of Versace, and Ricardo Baptista Fernandes, an artist and designer from Lisbon. The stylish interiors are filled with antiques, textiles, art and ceramics collected from around the world, the luxurious mattresses are handmade, and most rooms have balconies or terraces.

Famous for its world-class wines and superb food, Piemonte is also the land of rolling hills lined with vineyards, mountains topped with castles and white truffles found underfoot. Convenient to airports in Milan, Turin and Genoa, Piemonte is accessible from major cities but feels like it's from a distant, more peaceful time.
