Hotel review

Not much finger lifting is expected at this 5 star resort, camouflaged by lush green palm groves, overlooking its own private beach. Guests are ushered into the modern, laterally spacious lobby, presented with a shell necklace, cold flannel and fresh coconut drink (straight from the fruit) before being driven in a golf buggy to their individual cottage. A comfortable bed awaits with all the luxe ingredients - squashy pillows, power shower, bath (unusual in Kerala), balcony and room service. Venturing out, via walkways and bridged waterways, are three restaurants to choose from - Bait for beachside seafood, Curries specialising in local flavours and Jasmine Bay serving international cuisine poolside. If a swim doesn't cool you down, a buggy can ferry you the 800 metres to the sea (more breeze) where you can loll on a sun lounger looking out for turtles and dolphin and attentive staff will proffer tea or a towel.
