The XVA Hotel is in the Bastakiya area of old Dubai, down by the Creek and within the preserved Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. Next door is the highly respected Majlis Gallery. A wonderful contrast to the glitz of the Mall, it offers an enchantingly quiet, peaceful spot, ideal for a cold mint lemonade on a hot afternoon. The shady courtyard is adorned with interesting art, and there's a small shop of design-led gifts. Staff are attentive and welcoming. With an interesting Cafe menu and local eateries a stones throw away, it enables guests to get an authentic feel for Dubai as it used to be. Perfect for art lovers and those looking for a more interesting slant to Dubai.
