The honey-coloured 18th-century Georgian façades of Bath are famous and the Abbey Hotel enjoys centre stage at the west end of North Parade. On entering, friendly staff welcome you to the reception area which belies the traditional exterior with punchy artwork and retro furnishings. The quirky ‘Art Bar’, well known for its unique gins and house cocktails is the perfect backdrop for exhibits from locally acclaimed artists. Suspended decanters, vintage wine glasses and creative paint-splashed tables add to the theme. The retro-style continues in the Superior Rooms of the hotel with leather headboards, decorative film spools, and vintage wall lights. More traditional décor in other rooms, all with comfy Hypnos beds, slick tiled bath and shower rooms with luxury 'Energise' toiletries. The staff are helpful, friendly and interested in your touring plans, with a view to making your stay as memorable as possible. If location is top of your list, then you’re right on point. Here, you are in the centre of all the city’s top attractions, from the iconic Bath Abbey and Roman Baths to Pulteney Bridge and the familiar picture postcard of the River Avon weir.

This is a stylish, art-filled base bang in the middle of Bath city centre, a short stroll from the Roman Baths and Thermae Bath Spa. The hotel has a good restaurant, enticing places to drink, and attractive bedrooms that have iPads preloaded with local information.
