This is tropical living with sustainability at its heart. Attractive, airy rooms house antiques and locally crafted creations — including unique coconut wood desks and charming four-poster beds. Spaces here are shared: from the generous upstairs sitting room to the open showers, and the striking verandah where guests gather for a hearty homemade breakfast. Amble down to the near-empty beach for a swim, curl up in a garden hammock for a snooze or experience a guided tour of the family’s cinnamon farm and permaculture garden. Delicious dinners are often enjoyed en famille, a great opportunity to meet fellow guests and to chat with your lovely hosts about the lives they have built in Sri Lanka. Round off mellow evenings with a glimpse of the twinkling lights of the fishing boats, bobbing in the waves of the bay.
