“Historic riad with serious style sense. Set around lush central courtyard, an impressive restoration has resulted in a haven of contemporary chic; monochrome colour palette & deluxe furnishings. Relax across the huge rooftop, sexy suites & two pools. An oasis of serenity in the heart of the Medina.”

Hotel review

Situated on a great street for shopping, sightseeing and dining, entering Dar Mo’da offers an instant feel of peace and tranquility - which is incredible given its super central location. Designed as a home, this divine property beautifully combines the scale of a boutique hotel with the warmth of a private residence.

Four of the suites are located on the first floor around lush palm-fringed courtyard complete with pool, indoor and outdoor lounges and large dining area. Certain suites come with working fireplaces, four poster beds and secluded private terraces. The terrace room, which offers views from three sides, has a cosy homely feel. All boast lavish decor, incredible attention to detail and clear signs of constant upkeep: the result is fresh and modern yet set within an elegant 19th century structure. Expansive and open-air, stylish decor blends Moorish influences with contemporary touches, all set between arched walkways and rooms with soaring ceilings.

The rooftop is the pièce de résistance. Set higher than all those that surround it, views span the entire Medina all the way to the Atlas Mountains. 360 degree sunsets - especially when viewed from the elevated seating terrace - are simply spectacular. Another plunge pool is ideal for lazing around on sunny afternoons.

Generous breakfasts are served on the roof or indoors - weather dependent - and lovingly prepared meals that combine Moroccan, Mediterranean and international flavours are delightful. Nothing feels like too much for the warm and friendly staff.

The place for those who seek a carefully curated mix of Marrakech charm with contemporary comforts; there’s a strong sense of place, a true boutique feel and every need is met.
