“Dukes Hotel is wonderfully situated in the heart of St James's, just a few minutes from Piccadilly. Recently renovated, the hotel combines history with more modern touches to provide a truly excellent stay. Relax in the garden with a cigar and a cognac or grab a martini at the bar!”

Hotel review

Quintessentially British sums up Dukes Hotel. Discreetly tucked away in the heart of St James's, five minutes from Buckingham Palace, three minutes from Jermyn Street, it's the perfect place to stay. Bedrooms from the smallest to the largest are extremely comfortable but not showy - good size marble bathrooms with Floris bath accessories and large fluffy towels, top of the range beds, plenty of cupboard space, coffee machine etc and even an internet enabled telephone for free calls to selected destinations. Shaken not stirred - Dukes Bar, reputedly provided the inspiration for James Bond's very own Martini and they certainly know how to make one here. Wonderfully charming waiters, who give a fine impression that they have worked here forever, patrol the bar bringing all manner of drinks and cocktails speedily but unhurriedly, if you can do these things at the same time. GBR - is a Great British Restaurant - top quality modern British food served by knowledgeable and friendly staff in a smart and buzzy atmosphere. It's as much for hotel guests as outsiders. Stay here for the location, the martinis and discreet friendly staff.

Dukes Hotel

"A favourite of both the Queen Mother and Diana, Princess of Wales, the royal connection is still strong, and the hotel's emphasis on tradition is one of its biggest draws."
