The food and the service are what stand out at this sassy restaurant-with-rooms, a small country hotel that underwent a complete transformation under its new owner, Wildsmith Hotels - The Rybeck and Forest Side. With Lancashire born, Oli Martin in the kitchen, the restaurant, set in the Great Hall serves inspired, memorable dishes. Order the Tasting menu with accompanying wines - surprise follows surprise and all of them good ones. The three AA rosettes are well deserved and if a fourth could be awarded, it would certainly have it. Comfy bedrooms are a mixture of traditional and modern but all with good bathrooms and plenty of hot water.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? It's a combination of the food and the location. We like to think we offer the full package, a restaurant with rooms, that offers exceptional award winning food, set in a very warm and understated luxury setting. It's a great location to explore the best of the Yorkshire Dales and The Lakes too. What is there to do in the area? Enjoy a dramatic walk around the Ingleton Water Falls Walk and take in these stunning cascades, head underground and visit White Scar Caves, Ingleton and view hundreds of thousands of years of geological history, enjoy a ride out on horse back What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer continental and a la carte, from poached eggs, local sourced smoked fish to homemade muesli and compotes. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We offer breakfast and dinner daily, with lunch available on Saturday and Sunday. Our chef Oli Martin is one to watch and has been highly regarded by both national and regional press and restaurant guides. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Tatham Suite Room 2 as it overlooks the garden and has the best views. Room 7 as it is nice and quirky and choice for dog owners. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? We very much welcome children and happy to offer them early tea as long as we are given plenty of notice. We also offer baby listening services. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? If you love food and staying in an unpretentious but friendly and luxurious setting, whilst taking in all the natural beauties and attractions that the Yorkshire Dales and The Lakes have to offer, then Hipping Hall ticks those boxes
