“Country estate-style 14th-century manor house hotel with lovely gardens around a pool. Excellent facilities, including a tennis court, spa, gym, and fine dining. Four-poster beds and traditional, luxury furnishings. Deeply comfortable and luxurious.”

Hotel review

Owner Malcolm Lewis is the third generation to own and run Longueville Manor. One of the very few Relais & Chateaux properties to be entirely privately owned this 29-room luxury hotel in Jersey celebrates its 75th anniversary this year (2024). Set within 16 acres of manicured gardens this family and dog-friendly country house hotel was the first hotel in Jersey to have a swimming pool and today is the only hotel on Jersey to have been awarded the 5 AA coveted red stars. Most of the staff have been working here for more than 20 years, a testament to Malcom’s management style. The light-filled rooms and suites are immaculate, decorated by Malcolm’s wife Patricia in a classical style with luxury touches such as pillow sprays, Bramley bath and body products, complimentary slippers and nightly turndown service. The en-suite bathrooms are spacious with heated towel rails, and many have separate walk-in showers in addition to a bath. Teas and Nespresso coffee machine are standard in all the rooms as is complimentary filtered water.

Small but perfectly formed you’ll want for nothing during your stay at Longueville Manor. There’s a small, fully-equipped gym and a private spa with hot tub, sun terrace and treatment rooms with a list of therapies using Gaia products.

Andrew Baird has been the Executive Head Chef here for over 30 years (he started in 1990) and his food is still the star of the show. His passion and love of food and flavours shines through in his seasonal menus which include contemporary interpretations of classic dishes beautifully presented. The kitchen garden provides most of the fruit, vegetables and herbs and Andrew’s focus is very much on local and organic produce. If you’re a cheese lover you’re in for a real treat as the menu still includes a wonderful cheese trolley championing local and international cheeses. The wine list includes over 600 wines to choose from and the hotel has the WINEEMOTION dispenser in place allowing some of their best and fine wines usually sold by the bottle, to be enjoyed perfectly preserved and at the perfect temperature by the glass.

The dining experience in the oak dining room is an elegant affair with beautiful table linen, fresh flowers and Peugeo salt and paper. Service is exceptional in the old-style traditional way; efficient, discreet and personal. The extensive breakfast menu can be enjoyed in the dining room, poolside or in your room.

Longueville Manor ticks all of the boxes for an unforgettable luxury country house hotel experience.
