Boasting a magnificent setting atop a cliff overlooking the iconic Algarve coastline, Pine Cliffs Resort is a large luxury resort that caters well to families with children, as well as couples and groups interested in leisure activities and wellness. Accommodation highlights include its Ocean Suites, based in the heart of the resort and nearest to the beach. These are modern and spotlessly clean, with features such as comfortable king-sized beds, roll-top baths and rain showers. The suites are perfect for families as they feature kitchens and there’s the option of one or two bedrooms. There’s also Pine Cliffs Hotel with its beautiful, traditional Portuguese murals and hand-painted tiles.
Pine Cliffs has impressive facilities to keep children entertained and you don’t have to attend the kids’ club to use most of them, including two splash pools, bouncy castle, electric cars, mini golf and a playground. Or if kid-free relaxation is more your thing, head to the resort’s Serenity SPA which is located in the Ocean Suites accommodation (it’s worth noting that Ocean Suites guests enjoy free access to the spa’s facilities, including steam room, saunas and indoor pool) and offers a fabulous selection of spa treatments (book the soothing ‘Senses of the Algarve’ signature treatment where your skin soaks up traditional ingredients from the local region).
There are plenty of opportunities to be active, thanks to the resort’s incredibly scenic nine-hole golf course, with its famous par-3 ‘Devil’s Parlour’ hole which crosses the cliffs. There’s also the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy, eight outdoor pools plus large indoor heated pool for the cooler months, gym where the treadmills offer views over the clifftop and group exercise classes.
There are a staggering 12 restaurant choices available, where the service is fast and food is tasty. The great variety of cuisine on offer includes steak, fish, sushi, and healthy, plant-based options.
It's a pleasure to wander the beautiful gardens of Pine Cliffs and visit the beach via a lift. And be sure to head to the romantic champagne bar overlooking the ocean for a sundowner, especially when they’ve got a live saxophonist playing (children are even welcome).
The service throughout the resort deserves a special mention too, as the staff are warm, friendly and efficient.
