Crystal clear fresh air and plenty of opportunities for the outward bound. The setting is mountain peaks, pine forests and streams above rich green pastures and chalets. This extended stretch of pine buildings is pure Heidi world with its own recognised Ladin language. The rooms have a neutral Alpine look and a simple and homely feel. The hotel’s St. Hubertus Restaurant offers locally grown produce. Its confidently set menu is served with considerable theatricality. Each course is brought by a parade of waiters with synchronised service. Less of a performance is the taciturn breakfast whose buffet island reflects a modern diet with all the seeds, nuts and jams you could imagine. The basement spa is the perfect antidote to the day’s range of outdoor exercise. Don’t miss the bear museum next door!

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Guests return to Rosa Alpina year on year because it is a home away from home; the fact that it has been run by the same family for 70 years and many of the staff have worked at the hotel for years is reflected in the personal and warm service that each guest experiences. What is there to do in the area? The Dolomites are a hive of outdoor activities for all ages and abilities. In summer, there are beautiful walking and cycling trails through valleys and Alpine meadows, with e-bikes for those who struggle with cycling uphill. Rock climbing, paragliding and Skyrunning attract thrillseekers and fitness fans, while foodies can enjoy Michelin star local cuisine in the rifugi, or mountain huts, dotted about the slopes. In winter, the area is home to some of the best slopes in Europe and the nearby Sella Ronda offers over 1,000km of slopes all under one ski pass. Mountaineers can try their hand at waterfall ice climbing, and non-skiiers can hike through deep snow or ride a toboggan. What kind of breakfast do you offer? Breakfast at Rosa Alpina uses healthy and fresh ingredients for a balanced start to the day. Choose from a selection of juices, including green ‘detox’ juice, fresh fruit, museli and honey or have eggs and omelettes cooked for you to your preference by a chef behind a counter. For a taste of Italy, there are traditional pastries by our own pastry chefs such as crostata as well as salumi and local cheeses. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Enjoy relaxed fare in the Wine Bar & Grill, offering a selection of focaccias for lunch as well as excellent pizzas, pasta and fish options. Perfect for a cold winter’s evening, the hotel’s traditional and cosy Fondue Stube offers cold cuts and potatoes with a pot of fondue made of four different types of local cheese. For a gourmet experience, have an aperitivo in the kitchen of St. Hubertus, watching two Michelin-star head chef Norbert Niederkofler at work, before dining at the main restaurant with its innovative and beautiful dishes using unique ingredients and herbs from the mountains. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Junior Suites, Suites and the Loft Suites are very spacious both the room itself as well as the bath rooms. Connecting rooms are very popular among families. Last but not least, our Chalet Zeno with its three rooms is one of our top selling accommodation. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? We have a kids’ room in the basement (equipped with a short climbing wall as well with other plays for the little ones) A real outdoor climbing wall for the older kids (only with a mountain guide) Cinema Kids’ menu Amenity line in the room especially for them Bathrobe and slippers Teddy bear and special welcome for the babies Buggies for the hikes Rucksack, T-Shirt, peaked cap (in the summer) Possibility of pizza making with our pizzaiolo
