In an island dominated by all-inclusive resorts, Tet Rouge stands out as a family-run boutique property that feels completely hidden away. Just six adult-only studios sit in a hillside location above Choiseul. The tiny one-acre site is packed with tropical plants, such as hibiscus, coffee and orchids. A small infinity pool and sun terrace provide a daytime hangout, while the restaurant overlooking the Caribbean Sea and St Vincent island in the distance is a characterful place to pass the evening. The rooms are spacious and come with kitchenettes, indoor and outdoor showers and your private terrace with a hammock. You can even have your own barbecue should you wish. A 20-minute scramble down the hillside will bring you out at a small beach and just 15 minutes away is the start of the Gros Piton hike.

An idyllic hideout on a hillside above Choiseul on the picturesque west coast of St Lucia. Take a hike up Gros Piton from the grounds or scramble down to a secluded beach. Eat home-cooked Creole cuisine on the little terrace while taking in views of St Vincent.
