A recent addition to Michelin-starred Tom Kitchin's hotel group, this hotel brings a boutique feel to a traditional pub and restaurant with rooms. Located in well-to-do Gullane, this elevated inn is inconspicuous on the town high street, but the traditional exterior belies designer rooms and a fine dining restaurant. The pub itself is a historic building dating back to the 1800s; a recent renovation sees rooms divided between the main property and two traditional cottages, Hazel and Honeysuckle. Interiors are contemporary and chic, with walls by Scottish designer Maìri Helena’s Rorschach and linens by Laura Thomas. Even the ensuite bathrooms feature bespoke Scottish hand-made Siabann toiletries. The Stables Dining Room offers modern takes on pub classics in a relaxed environment; there's no dress code here, and dogs are welcome to tag along. Dishes are prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and there is a daily à la carte menu. There are board games to keep children entertained in the games room and a pool table for grown-ups. A stylish and refined seaside stay.
