“Renovated 18th-century inn with rooms in the heart of Crewkerne, Somerset. Cosy atmosphere in the bar and restaurant which are frequented by locals. Rooms feature stripped wooden floors and quirky bathrooms. Great for a one night pit stop on the way to Cornwall.”

Hotel review

New to the hotel scene, The Crooked Swan is a little more style than substance, but it's early days so watch this space. Do expect a friendly welcome from the young team of staff. Pull up a chair by the fire and enjoy a local cider and a plate of stroganoff. The eight rooms have been stripped back to their original features and are spacious with period shutters and chandeliers. The en-suite bathrooms have an industrial feel to them and some feature roll top baths. Due to the position of The Crooked Swan (right in the centre of town), the rooms can be a little noisy. Attention to detail is lacking but it's a good value choice for a one night stopover on the way to Cornwall or Devon or if you're in Crewkerne for business as it is the best place to stay in town.
