Tipped by experts as one of the most up-and-coming New World wine regions, Virginia is also a brilliant destination for foodies, outdoors-folk, and for horse lovers and history buffs! Because, sandwiched between the Atlantic Coast and the Appalachian Mountains, Virginia has been part of America’s story since the earliest days of European settlement. So our Gurus recommendations for the best hotels in Virginia wine country include historic inns, and converted mansions, manors and farm houses, as well as contemporary resorts and spa hotels. The Virginia wine country is a widespread area though many of the best vineyards can be found in the Blue Ridge Mountains region. We've also included vineyard picks towards Chesapeake Bay and in the South West of the state around Blacksburg.
