Zante — more formally known as Zakynthos — is the third-largest of the Ionian Islands. Bustling Zakynthos Town is the island’s capital and main hub. Prior to the 1953 earthquake, the town was home to some striking Venetian architecture, but it has since been rebuilt in a more modern style.
