If your family includes furry members, the challenge of choosing a great holiday destination becomes a bit trickier. But Massachusetts is an easy option, what with the miles and miles of picturesque, sandy beaches; the pretty towns and harbours with their outdoor cafes and restaurants, and the impressively large number of pet-friendly hotels to choose from. Lots of dogs love the beach, and there are plenty of great hotels, inns and guesthouses with agreeable pet policies along Cape Cod, and on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Island. If your pet would prefer a rural escape, there are some wonderful pet-friendly picks in the Berkshire Hills, around Lenox, Pittsfield and North Adams. Towns and cites might not be every pet’s first choice destination, but you might have a lot of fun together in Boston, Salem, or Provincetown, and there are certainly some great places for pet families to stay in these centres.
