Hotel Review
Location, location, location! The Belsfield has the best with far reaching views across Lake Windermere. Unlike other hotels in the Lake District it also has some land at the front of the building allowing you to sit outside on a sunny summer's day and soak up the sun and the views. This grade II listed building is home to 62 light and airy rooms and suites with spacious en-suite bathrooms, most of which have lake views. The dining room has a lovely atmosphere with white linen table clothes and fresh flowers on every table - the menu showcases British dishes and a short wine list, both of which will be changing this year (2024) to become a more brasserie style menu. Next door is the wooden floored all-day dining room with views onto the lawn and lake. When bartender Nick is on duty the bar is a fun place to be as he shows off his skills making some delicious cocktails. Great for a quick stop over and for a few days on Lake Windermere.
