Hotel Review
This couple’s dream that unfortunately had to be rebuilt after the Tsunami shines through. It’s a vision of a resort that is empathetic to the surroundings with a stunning ‘inside-outside’ duality. The rooms are very Zen. There are stones and slate on the bathroom floor beneath the rain showers, absorbing the water beautifully in the heat. There are logs to put shampoo on and driftwood acting as decoration. It’s serenity and classic tones are refreshingly not overpushed. There’s a lovely ficus tree acting as a focal point in the middle of the plot. Kingfishers and monitor lizards are in evidence. The food in the two restaurants offer a confidently small menu. The Pathways Spa is positioned close to the beach in order for the lapping of the sea and bird songs to be incorporated into the experience. Magical at night when lit up. Long clean beaches. Great excursions include boat rides to Thailand’s best diving spot in the Similan Islands and to the National Park for elephants and monkeys. This resort is a stunning high-class labour of love.
