As well known for its swish boutique charm as its buzzy street-front patio, Hotel Cort is a popular hang-out for Palma locals and tourists alike. Inside, lofty ceilings hint at the property's previous incarnation (an 18th-century bank), while a dizzying array of Moorish tiling combines artfully with splashes of traditional ikat fabrics, carved wood panelling, and island-themed curios. Guestrooms are spacious-yet-snug, with busy bookshelves, velvet couches, and leather headboards setting the tone; high-spec amenities include bedside controls to adjust light and heating. Dining is pricey but some of the finest in the locale, and complemented by a raw bar serving the likes of expertly-prepared Peruvian ceviche. A rooftop terrace with plunge pool provides a secluded space away from the bustle of the hotel's enviable location – right in the epicentre of the city's historic quarter, but still within walking distance of the beach.
