“The Dundas Arms is a grade II listed Georgian inn on the banks of the Kennet, in picturesque Kintbury. Eight rooms are decorated in classic country house style, with feature wallpapers & luxurious bathrooms - river rooms with private terraces. Formal & pub style dining ensure something for all.”

Hotel review

The Dundas Arms is named after James Dundas, the hydro engineer who helped design the Kennet and Avon canal which splits from the River Kennet just upstream of the inn. This grade II listed Georgian beauty has been lovingly brought up to date. All rooms enjoy superb views and boast huge sleigh beds; the river rooms have private terraces overlooking the Kennet - perfect for afternoon tea or glass of something stronger. Downstairs in the main house there's an antique penny bar, where wholesome snacks are served all day long, a cozy sitting room with log fire and a well stocked library with plenty of board games, magazines and of course books! The main restaurant overlooks the river Kennet and outside, at the confluence of the canal and river, there is the famous Secret Garden, with a table for 12 beneath a sweeping willow tree. A delightful village inn with plenty of quirks and welcome surprises, and a good choice for those who love the great outdoors with fantastic walking on the doorstep.

The Dundas Arms

Sandwiched by the River Kennet and Avon canal, this Georgian pub is run by a cheerful team of staff which oversees a good, unpretentious kitchen and newly-decorated rooms, including family options. A convivial bar attracts local cyclists and walkers, plus weekenders from London and the west country.
